Agriculture is at the heart of our civilization and has always played a big role in goverment. I believe that for how much agriculture does for our economy they are not given as big enough role within the goverment, like they should. Agriculture is a huge factor in goverment when talking about econmic growth, jobs, and life. Expesally in todays sociaty Agriculture has become a key player in may of the debates going on within our goverment. An example of this would be the Water Right issues we are facing within the San Joaquin Valley. There is a large water shortage that our country is facing. We are so low on water that places like Las Vegas and Los Angles may not recieve water. Within the Valley it has become very bad expectually with the Enviormental issues that effect our water uses. With agriculture being so big in our goverment this brings up a huge issue for everone in the United State. When there is not enough water to grow crops the food supply decreases, jobs are lost, and some homes will not be able to recieve water. This is an example of how agriculture should have a bigger role in goverment because what happens in agriculture effects everyone.
Not only is agriculture involved with debates in goverment but also with the economic growth as well. In resent years agriculture exports have increased greatly which has boosted our economy but has also helped our nation create better ties with other countries. Another way that it helps our economy grow is that agriculter provides many jobs. I feel that goverment tries to control agriculture and input laws that benifit them rather then the farmer. I believe that goverment needs to have a smaller role in agriculture because agriculture should be able to defeand and manage their issues with less govermental inputs.
